Helmet Requirements

Attn: Baseball and Softball Players for AAA and Majors

As part of the annual review of our league, we are always looking for ways to improve the playing experience.

Effective for the 2012 season, for specific divisions, we are going to require players use helmets that have face guards on them when batting.

Many leagues have successfully adopted this rule over the past few years, and we feel it significantly upgrades the safety aspect of our league.  Falmouth Little League is purchasing helmets with face guards to ensure that every team in an impacted division will have enough helmets for their team.  If you prefer that your child brings their own helmet to a game, it will need to have a face guard on it in order for them to be allowed to use it.  We understand that many players may already own a helmet without a face guard on it, however we strongly feel the safety of the players is the most important thing.  If we can deter one eye-related injury to one of our players, this effort will certainly be worthwhile.

The impacted divisions are as follows:

  • Baseball – AAA, Majors
  • Softball –AAA, Majors, Juniors

We appreciate your support and look forward to a fun and safe year!
