Softball and Baseball Evaluations (9-12):
Each year there are many questions, anxiety and possibly some misunderstanding about player evaluations. These are not tryouts as there are no cuts in Falmouth Little League. These are simply player evaluations to offer the coaches of AAA and Majors a chance to review the kids and attempt to make equal teams across the leagues. It is very low-key, non-stressful with great enthusiasm and encouragement for all players. All players must be registered prior to the evaluations date(s). Please click here to register your son/daughter. All new and returning Majors players for baseball and softball will be required to attend evaluations.
All players must bring sneakers and glove. Once a player has been evaluated, they will leave the gym. Parents will not be permitted in the gym during evaluations.
Please see schedule below. This schedule based on age and last name will allow a controlled amount of players to be evaluated at one time. Coaches should arrive 20 minutes prior to start time of evaluations.
All players ages 9-12 will participate in the 2013 evaluations. While all 12 year olds will be placed on a Majors team – they are required to attend evaluations. In 2013, any parents of an 11 year-old player (must be this age by 12/31/2012), who are in 5th or 6th grade and have at least 1 year of AAA experience have the options of having their child either play another year of AAA, play majors if they feel there would not be a safety concern OR, have the league evaluators decide where they feel the most suitable level is for them to play. Please register your child accordingly.
Most 10 year olds will play AAA, although they are eligible to play Majors depending on ability. All 9 year olds will play AAA. If you would prefer your child (ages 10-12) not be considered for Majors, please notify Ernie Johnson (email@example.com), Matt Rogers (firstname.lastname@example.org), or Matt Douglas (email@example.com) immediately. Either way, players are still required to participate in evaluations so that teams can be better balanced at both the AAA and Major levels.
Should you have any questions about the process please feel free to contact Player Agent, Renée Daniels (FLLPlayerAgent@gmail.com) or the VP’s for AAA or Majors listed above as well as any other member of the board (www.falmouthlittleleague.net).
